In the near future, I will be introducing legislation providing for authority to arrest or cite outside of State park or forest lands.
The proposed legislation would authorize those appointed and commissioned by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) to preserve order in the State park or State forest lands to enforce those provisions which designate violations as summary offenses of operation of an all-terrain vehicle even if the violation occurs outside of State park and State forest lands. The authority includes the power to stop vehicles suspected of summary offenses, issue citations and, if a vehicle is stopped for a suspected summary offense, to make arrests where evidence appears of additional offenses designated as misdemeanors or felonies.
