Memo
In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation that would amend the Pennsylvania Election Code (Act 320 of 1937) to provide for electronic voter registration up to 30 days prior to an election. My legislation mirrors Senate Bill 37 which was recently introduced by Senator Smucker.
This bill would allow Pennsylvania to follow in the footsteps of other states such as Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, South Carolina, Utah, Virginia, and Washington that already offer electronic voter registration to varying degrees. If you believe in increasing accessibility to our election polls while decreasing costs to our taxpayers, I urge you to join me in co-sponsoring this legislation. Thank you.
