Representative Duane Milne
R House District 167
Memo
In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation that provides for the creation of a hydrogen fuel cell collaboration program.
Research is currently being conducted around the world in a race to develop a wide variety of technologies around the possibilities of hydrogen power. This clean and efficient fuel, and incidentally the most common element on the planet, is expected to revolutionize the automobile industry as manufactures like Honda, Toyota and Ford near mass-market production of hydrogen vehicles.
Furthermore, some of the world’s leading hydrogen power companies are located here in Pennsylvania and exploration into this technology for uses as broad as military and vehicles to home energy generation is building a prosperous hydrogen related industry here. My legislation will help develop this industry by providing $1 million matching grants to collaborations between businesses, nonprofits, and PA institutions of higher education for research into the technological and cost barriers associated with commercialization and adaptation of hydrogen fuel cell technology.
