In the near future, legislation (HB-1421 of 2013-14) will be reintroduced amending the Tax Reform Code of 1971 that is intended to promote firearm safety and the proper storage of firearms.
To encourage firearm owners to purchase lockable safety devices and lockable storage units, this legislation will exclude from the Sales and Use Tax retail purchases of gun safes and gun locks.
