Memo
In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation that will amend provisions of the Bingo Law pertaining to prizes and awards that have not been updated since the 1980’s.

Specifically, my legislation will remove restrictions regarding how many days a licensed association may conduct bingo games. The Bingo Law currently limits the conduct of bingo by an association to two days a week. Additionally, the limit on prizes that may be awarded will be increased as follows:

  • For any one game of bingo, the limit is increased from $250 to $500.
  • For jackpot games, the limit is increased from $2,000 to $4,000.
  • For the amount of prizes awarded in a calendar day, the limit is increased from $4,000 to $8,000.

Bingo is a valuable source of fundraising for many non-profits, and I hope you will consider cosponsoring this needed legislation that will enable the Commonwealth’s non-profits to raise more funds for their charitable purposes.

If you have any comments, questions or concerns regarding this legislation, please contact my office at (717) 630-8942.

Thank you.
