Memo
In the near future, a six bill package will be introduced which focuses on issues regarding freedom in the workplace.  They will give workers the right to decide where they work and what organizations they join.

We request your support in pursuit of freedom in the workplace.

If you have any questions please contact Gina Buffington at gbuffing@pahousegop.com or 717-783-1707.

The following proposals will prohibit compulsory unionism and make Pennsylvania a Right-To-Work state.

Legislation
Document 1 - Introduced as HB 1750
(Metcalfe, former HB 50):  This legislation would prohibit employment from being conditional upon membership or non-membership in a labor organization.  Compulsory dues would be prohibited for non-union members and would apply to both public and private sector employees.

Document 2 - Introduced as HB 1751
(Rapp, former HB 51):  This legislation prohibits labor organizations from collecting compulsory union dues from non-union public school employees.

Document 3 - Introduced as HB 1752
(F. Keller, former HB 52):  This legislation prohibits labor organizations from collecting compulsory union dues from non-union state employees.

Document 4 - Introduced as HB 1753
(Bloom, former HB 53):  This legislation prohibits labor organizations from collecting compulsory union dues from non-union local government employees.

Document 5 - Introduced as HB 1754
(Knowles, former HB 54):  This legislation would prohibit employment from being conditional upon membership or non-membership in a labor organization.  Compulsory dues would be prohibited for non-union members and would apply to only private sector employees.

Document 6 - Introduced as HB 1755
(Kauffman, former HB 250):  This legislation would permit public employees to opt out of their union membership at any time during their contract.  Currently, under the Public Employee Relations Act, employees can only opt out of their union membership 15 days prior to the expiration of their contract.  This legislation would provide public employees the freedom to terminate their union membership at any time.
