Budget Impasse Pay Suspension

Representative Christopher Quinn
R House District 168
Memo
With budget season upon us, I plan to introduce a reform that ensures proper fiscal discipline in the event of a budget impasse. This legislation would amend the Administrative Code of 1929 by suspending compensation for the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, cabinet officers, and the General Assembly if a general appropriation bill is not passed by the June 30th deadline.
If we are not able to pass a budget on time as the state constitution requires, then we should not get paid until we have done the job the taxpayers have elected us to do.
Please consider co-sponsoring this legislation.
