Memo
In the near future, I will be introducing legislation to designate the bridge, identified as Bridge Key 8680, carrying State Route 3055 over Stonycreek River in the City of Johnstown, Cambria County, as the City of Johnstown Firefighters Memorial Bridge.
Since May 1906, the City of Johnstown Fire Department has proudly served the City of Johnstown's residents, businesses and visitors with admiration, pride and fidelity.
During these years, the brave men and women of this department have dedicated their lives and careers to help others in their time of need, some have made the ultimate sacrifice and have perished while serving this great City of ours.
I would like to forever memorialize the following seven firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice for others by dedicating the Franklin Street Bridge in Downtown Johnstown as The City of Johnstown Firefighters Memorial Bridge.
Jacob Graff, October 28, 1926
Joseph Costanzo, October 1, 1951
Thomas Potter, March 14, 1952
John Brindle, January 8, 1954
Robert Urbasik, May 17, 1958
Richard Roberts, February 15, 1989
John Slezak, March 18, 1989
Please join me in honoring and remembering these brave firefighters.
