Memo
Many people throughout Pennsylvania cannot hold a job unless they submit to random drug testing. It does not make sense that we, the men and women chosen by those individuals to represent their interests at the state level, are not held to the same standard.

Residents of this great state deserve our accountability and transparency. It is time to take that one step further. I plan to introduce legislation that will require House and Senate members to submit to controlled substance testing at multiple times throughout their service. A failed test will result in an Ethics Committee investigation.

We must hold ourselves to a high standard and provide Pennsylvanians with the drug-free legislature that they deserve. As such, I ask that you join me in supporting this significant legislation which will help restore the public’s trust in us and our work. Your consideration is greatly appreciated.
