Memo
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, many regulations across our state government were suspended to allow government to continue working and serving the people during the public health crisis. We have learned a lot over the past year, and we have found that some of these regulations can be suspended permanently in order to better serve the changing needs of individuals.
In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation that would amend the Workers’ Compensation Act to allow for a claimant, that intends to sign a Compromise and Release Agreement, to appear before a workers’ compensation judge and provide sworn testimony that they fully understand the agreement so that there is no need to sign the agreement in the presence of two witnesses or a notary.
Please consider joining me and cosponsoring this important legislation.
