Memo
Disabled veterans have made a tremendous sacrifice for their country and this Commonwealth. Should they have to pay for hunting licenses? Currently, in Pennsylvania, veterans of any war or armed conflict whose physical disability consists of the loss of one or more limbs, or whose physical disability is total, are eligible for free regular hunting and furtaking licenses.

My bill will expand the list of free hunting licenses available to disabled veterans to include antlerless deer, bear, archery, muzzle loader, migratory game bird, elk, and special wild turkey licenses. These licenses will be available to any veteran with a 100 percent disability rating or whose physical disability consists of the loss of the use of one or more limbs.

Veterans have selflessly served this country. As we continue to honor their service, I believe these individuals should be entitled to receive hunting licenses without charge. Please join me in supporting Pennsylvania’s disabled veterans.

This legislation was previously introduced as HB 1670 of 2021 and was co-sponsored by Representatives Ciresi, Austin Davis, Deasy, Delloso, Guenst, Hohenstein, Jozwiak, Mentzer, Mullins, Pennycuick, Pisciottano, Rozzi, and Sanchez.
