Although the Covid-19 Pandemic emergency is lessening, many of our Pennsylvania restaurants and bars are still struggling during these unstable economic times. New hurdles have appeared with raising costs due to inflation and supply chain issues along with labor shortages. We need to do all we can to help these businesses adapt and remain flexible.
 
In order to provide help to our restaurants, I will be introducing legislation that would allow these licensees to hold an unlimited number of off premise catering events. Currently under Act 87 of 2021, licensees can hold an unlimited number of these events but the provision sunsets in 2024. Participating in off premise catering events has become a new part of the business operation for many of our licensees. Allowing licensees to hold an unlimited number of events will only continue to help them create revenue and avoid the many closings we have seen over the past few years.
