Memo
Please join me as a co-sponsor of legislation that will give power back to the people at the local level by requiring a voter referendum of any warehouse development located in their municipality.

Because of the growth in online shopping and our prime geographic location for nationwide shipping, Pennsylvania, and particularly the Lehigh Valley, have seen a dramatic increase in the number of warehouse developments. These developments can have a substantial negative impact on our local communities, including reduced air quality, the loss of open space and farmland, significant increases in truck traffic and noise, and increased wear and tear on local infrastructure.

My legislation will ensure that each municipality has added protection from these negative impacts by requiring that any municipal approval for a warehouse development receives approval of the electorate before it can be approved.

I look forward to working with you on this important legislation.
