Memo
Blockchain technology represents a significant opportunity for innovation and economic growth in Pennsylvania. The citizens of Pennsylvania agree, with more than 1.5 million owning some form of digital asset. I am introducing the Blockchain Basics Act to lead in this technological revolution and protect our citizens’ rights. This legislation aims to create clear rules for using blockchain and digital assets, ensuring security and encouraging innovation.

The Act ensures that individuals and businesses can accept digital assets as payment for goods and services, keep their digital assets securely, and participate in blockchain activities without special licenses. This approach will make it easier for our citizens and businesses to use and benefit from blockchain technology.

By supporting this legislation, we can make Pennsylvania a friendly place for blockchain innovation and provide our citizens with the tools to engage in the digital economy safely. Please join me in co-sponsoring the Blockchain Basics Act to drive technological advancement and economic development in Pennsylvania.
