Memo
In the near future, I plan on introducing legislation amending Title 34 (Game), providing for the enforcement of provisions of section 2314; relating to trespass on private property while hunting. This was SB 1066 of 2011.

Currently, Pennsylvania Game Commission Officers do not have the authority to enforce trespassing laws while hunting.  There have been an increasing number of incidents where hunters have violated the law in regards to trespassing while hunting and property owners are required to call the local or state police.

Specifically, this legislation would authorize Game Commission Officers to enforce trespass laws specified in section 2314 of Title 34.  This shall include the ability to issue citations for violations of section 2314.  This legislation also strengthens the penalty for violation by increasing the offense from a summary offense of the fifth degree  to a summary offense of the third degree.

Previous co-sponsors of this legislation include: Alloway, Smucker, Waugh, White, Rafferty, Brewster, and Solobay.
