Senator Lisa Boscola
D Senate District 18
Memo
In the near future, I will introduce a resolution recognizing Sunday, March 8, 2015 as "International Women's Day" in the Commonwealth. I encourage you to join me as a co-sponsor.
International Women's Day has been observed since in the early 1900's, and annually on March 8th, thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate achievements. This day strives to acknowledge the economic, political, and social achievements of women throughout history and it is my belief that our Commonwealth should join in recognizing these accomplishments and how vital women are to our communities.
'Make It Happen' is the 2015 theme, encouraging effective action for advancing and recognizing women.
