Senator Judy Ward
R Senate District 30
Memo
I plan to introduce legislation repealing Act 466 of 1913, referred to as the Female Labor Law.
Act 466 provides for regulating the employment of females with respect to hours of labor, conditions of employment, lunch rooms, and drinking water among other things. This law, however, is outdated and therefore no longer necessary. These issues are now covered under general labor laws.
This bill is part of an effort to clear the books of obsolete and ineffective laws.
Please join me in co-sponsoring this legislation.
