Senator Doug Mastriano
R Senate District 33
Memo
In the near future, I intend to introduce the following legislation and I invite you to join me as a co-sponsor:
Free fishing licenses for Disabled First Responders.
First responders are a lifeline in communities throughout Pennsylvania.
Even though there is nothing we can do that would adequately thank them for the valor they display on a daily basis, there are subtle measures the legislature can undertake to show its appreciation.
That’s why I plan on introducing legislation that would create free fishing licenses for 100 percent disabled first responders residing in Pennsylvania.
To qualify for a free fishing license, the applicant should provide written verification from their doctor, proving they are 100 percent disabled and that the disability occurred while in the line of duty.
Offering first responders, who have been disabled while in the line of duty, an opportunity to participate in fishing activities for free is a small – but important – gesture to honor their bravery and express our gratitude for their sacrifice.
Please join me in cosponsoring this important piece of legislation. If you have any comments, questions or concerns, please contact Scot Pitzer in my office at 717-787-4651 or spitzer@pasen.gov.
