In the near future, I plan on introducing a Resolution designating September 2020 as “Smart Septic Month.”
This month recognizes the importance to Pennsylvania property owners (26 percent of whom use septic systems) of properly maintaining their on-lot septic system, of knowing when it needs maintenance and the importance of getting on a schedule for maintenance.
Proper maintenance improves our environment, while keeping effluent away from watershed areas and prevents pollutants from entering our streams.
I hope you will join me in raising the awareness of proper septic maintenance by co-sponsoring this Resolution.
