In the near future, I will introduce a resolution designating the month of June 2022 as “Dairy Month” in Pennsylvania.
As Pennsylvania’s largest agricultural industry, the dairy industry has long been an integral part of our community and economy. Nationally, Pennsylvania ranks 2nd in the nation for the number of dairy farms, 6th for the number of dairy cows and 7th for total milk production. Contributing $12.6 billion in economic revenue annually, the industry supports 52,000 jobs through 5,200 dairy farms, 99% of which are family owned.
Please join me in co-sponsoring this resolution to both recognize the impact of the dairy industry on our Commonwealth, as well as to celebrate Pennsylvania’s hard-working dairy farmers by designating the month of June 2022 as “Dairy Month.”
