The world of technology is evolving at a rapid pace and so too is the agriculture industry.
However, small, and mid-sized producers often view emerging technology with hesitation and tends to not be an early adopter. They see the initial cost, uncertain economic returns, and the complexity of the technology as limiting factors. This puts small and mid-size producers at distinct disadvantage comparatively to large producers.
The Precision Agriculture Grant program would enable farmers, schools, and businesses to apply for funding that would allow for the implementation and development of precision agriculture technologies. These technologies would assist in areas such as optimizing irrigation, early identification of pests and diseases, monitor soil quality, reduce cost, and boost yield.
