In the near future, I will be reintroducing the Medical Freedom Act.

Since the introduction of this bill last session, numerous peer reviewed studies have proven what many of us had already known. The Lancet, one of the world's oldest and best-known general medical journals, reported in an October 2021 study that COVID-19 vaccines have "minimal" impact on preventing transmission. A study by the New England Journal of Medicine in February 2022 came to a similar conclusion. Even the current director of the CDC, Rochelle Walensky, admitted in a 2022 interview that “Covid vaccines can't prevent transmission anymore.”

This new information further proves that all COVID vaccination decisions are personal decisions that should be made by the individual, including the right to informed consent or informed refusal. 

Many Pennsylvanians have lost and continue to lose their livelihoods and access to basic services due to misguided COVID vaccine mandates. The General Assembly must take action to affirm that individuals have the basic human right to decide what goes INTO their body.

The Medical Freedom Act will prohibit a state agency or political subdivision from mandating an individual to receive a COVID-19 vaccination. It also clearly states that an individual in the commonwealth may not be discriminated against, denied services, or denied medical care for refusal to accept a COVID-19 vaccination.
Lastly, this legislation will prohibit all employers in the state from taking any adverse employment action against an individual for the sole reason of the individual's decision to decline a COVID-19 vaccination.

Last session, this bill was passed out of the Senate Health and Human Services committee. Prior co-sponsors include Senators HUTCHINSON, SCAVELLO, REGAN and PITTMAN.
