I intend to introduce legislation which will establish the Independent Energy Office (IEO) within the Commonwealth.    Pennsylvania has one of the most diverse energy portfolios in the United States.   We have energy sectors ranging from gas, coal, nuclear, renewables, hydro, geo-thermal and wood to name a few.   Similar to the Independent Fiscal Office (IFO), the IEO would not support or oppose any policy it analyzes.  The IEO would be charged with providing impartial, timely and data driven analysis to guide the state in determining and meeting future energy needs.
