I intend to reintroduce Senate Bill 261 of 2011, legislation that will allow employers to establish a “Healthy Living Committee” (HLC) to help employees live longer and healthier lives; promote health and wellness; and reduce premium costs. The Insurance Department would establish qualifications and certify HLCs. Group health insurers would provide a 5 percent discount on premium rates to employers with HLCs.
